Adequate stability is vital to the safe operation of all vessels.  For most large vessels, small passenger vessels and small commercial vessels, an assessment of stability is mandatory and should be updated periodically.

If modifications to a vessel are to be undertaken, it is vital to first predict their likely effect on stability.

Pratt Naval Architecture can assess intact and damage stability and advise whether a vessel complies with relevant standards.  We produce stability information books which have been approved by bodies including the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency and Classification Societies.

If stability is found to be deficient, we can advise on the options for improvement.

No drawings? – No problem! We can accurately measure vessels by laser scanning.
